Darrell Fishbeck, a 54-year-old man from Blanco, Texas, made a big change in his life last summer when he moved nearly 5,000 miles to Felixstowe, Suffolk, with his wife. He now has over 180,000 followers and millions of likes. People enjoy his funny and honest takes on things like the weather, food, history, and even how people use contactless payments in the UK. Darrell says his goal is to show Americans how life in Britain is different, and sometimes better, but always in a light-hearted way.

One of the biggest differences Darrell noticed was the weather. In Texas, it gets very hot, but air conditioning is everywhere, so it is easy to cool down. In Suffolk, not every place has air conditioning, so it can be hard to escape the heat during a heatwave. During a recent record-breaking heatwave in the UK, Darrell went jogging and even swam in the sea. He said he enjoyed the heat because it was cooler at night and there was a nice breeze. He understands why so many people go swimming in Felixstowe when it is hot. Darrell moved to Felixstowe to live with his English wife after being in a long-distance relationship for several years. He says the people in Suffolk have been very kind and welcoming, which made it much easier for him to adjust to his new home.
