The movie was directed by Eli Roth, who first introduced the idea as a fake movie trailer in another movie called 'Grindhouse' by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez. Now, 16 years later, it's a full movie that gives a nod to classic horror films like 'Scream' and 'The Texas Chain Saw Massacre'. nnThe story begins with a chaotic Black Friday event at a store called RightMart, where people are trampled while trying to get holiday deals. A year after this tragedy, the town is hit by a series of murders as they get ready for Thanksgiving. A group of friends who were at RightMart during the disaster are now getting weird messages from someone using the name 'John Carver', which is the same as the town's first mayor. The main character, Jessica, whose father owns RightMart, is also dealing with a complicated love life involving her current and former boyfriends. nnThe local sheriff, played by Patrick Dempsey, is on a mission to find the killer. The movie is filled with gory scenes and clever ways the villain hurts his victims. It's not a movie for families, but fans of horror will likely enjoy it and look forward to a possible sequel.
