Epic Edible Art: Life-Size Cakes of Celebs and Monsters Steal the Show!

Cake International, one of the world's largest cake decorating and baking exhibitions, took place at the NEC in Birmingham, drawing bakers and cake artists from around the globe. Emma spent a week just making the head, using Rice Krispies, modeling chocolate, and sugar paste to capture the singer's likeness in his iconic red Thriller outfit. Fans of Michael Jackson were thrilled to see the cake, which showed him with his arms raised and mouth open, just like in the music video.

Other artists brought cakes inspired by Jim Carrey's movie characters, including Ace Ventura and The Mask. The timing of the event, which coincided with Halloween, encouraged many participants to create spooky and ghoulish cakes. Some cakes were life-size and depicted skeletons, creepy faces, and even Medusa from Greek mythology, complete with green skin, red eyes, and snakes for hair. The exhibition hall was filled with colorful and detailed cakes, and visitors could watch live demonstrations to learn new decorating techniques.

Cake International is known for attracting artists from countries such as the USA, Spain, Poland, India, and South Africa. Thousands of visitors attended the event, exploring trade stalls, watching expert judges like Cherish Finden inspect the cakes, and enjoying the creative atmosphere. Past exhibitions have featured edible sculptures of celebrities like Taylor Swift, Ozzy Osbourne, and even political figures. This year, the show included life-size cakes of Shrek and Queen Elizabeth I, giving attendees a chance to see their favorite characters in cake form. The event closed on Sunday, leaving everyone inspired by the talent and imagination on display.
