Rock On! Lemmy's Hometown Welcomes Epic Motorhead Bar & Shop
A new Motorhead-themed bar and shop has opened in Burslem, the hometown of the legendary frontman Lemmy Kilmister. The bar, called the Ian Fraser Kilmister Legacy, was created by the IFK Legacy group and is located in Market Place. This new spot is not just a bar but also a shop, and it aims to become a gathering place for fans who travel from all over the world to see the nearby Lemmy statue. The bar also hopes to raise money to help restore the historic Queens Theatre in Burslem.
The opening day was filled with excitement as fans gathered to celebrate. The front of the shop features a large poster that reads 'Lemmy Forever' with a picture of Lemmy, and the windows are decorated with Motorhead signs. One of the fans at the opening was Phil Street, who has been a Motorhead fan since he was 11 years old. Phil, now 63, wore a black Motorhead hoodie and a Black Sabbath t-shirt. He said it was a proud moment for the town and that the statue of Lemmy is a special place for locals and visitors. Phil mentioned that people come to see the statue every day, and now the bar will make the area even more popular.
The official opening was marked by Krusher Joule, a friend of the band, who cut the ribbon. Krusher, who has long grey hair and a beard, wore round tinted glasses and held a bottle of whiskey as he spoke to the crowd. He said he felt honored to open the bar and believed Lemmy would have loved the idea. Krusher shared memories of working with Motorhead back in 1979 and said that, although he was nervous at first, the band members were very kind. He described the bar as being filled with the spirit of Motorhead and rock and roll. The new bar is expected to attract even more fans to Burslem, making it a must-visit place for anyone who loves Motorhead and rock music.
