Evie’s Dance Dream: Three Years at Laine Theatre Arts Begins!

Evie Bradford, an 18-year-old from Frecheville, Sheffield, is about to begin an exciting new chapter in her life as she starts a three-year course at Laine Theatre Arts in Surrey. For Evie, this moment is the result of years of dedication, countless hours spent in dance studios, and many performances in competitions and showcases. She jokes that she has been dancing 'since birth,' and with both her parents involved in the arts—her mother as a choreographer and her father as a director for the Manor Operatic Society—it is clear that performing runs in her family. Evie attended CAPA College in Wakefield, a school known for nurturing young talent in the performing arts. She has also competed in events like Miss Dance of Great Britain, which means she is used to performing under pressure. Getting into Laine Theatre Arts was not easy. The school is famous for producing talented performers, including celebrities like Victoria Beckham and Warwick Davies. To earn her place, Evie had to audition and show that she could sing, act, and dance. She remembers feeling very nervous because she had to do several auditions for different schools. However, as soon as she walked into Laine Theatre Arts, she felt a strong connection and knew it was the right place for her. She said, 'I can't tell you the feeling of walking out of the door after my audition—I just knew that this is where I want to be for the next three years. ' Evie feels extremely lucky to have been chosen, especially since only a small number of students are accepted each year. She is also happy that one of her best friends will be joining her at the school. Moving away from home to start this new journey is both exciting and a little scary for Evie. She has already packed her belongings and settled into her new home in Surrey. She admits to feeling nervous but also sees this as the beginning of her future. 'It's the start of my life really, because it's what I want to do in the future,' she says. For now, Evie is focused on her studies and is ready to take on whatever challenges come her way over the next three years. She is looking forward to making new friends and being surrounded by people who share her passion for the performing arts.
