The West Midlands is quickly becoming a center for artificial intelligence, or AI, as more businesses and people start to use this technology. Andy Hague, who leads TechWM, says that many people still do not understand what AI is or how it can help them. He believes that more than 70 percent of people cannot explain what AI is or how it might affect their lives. Hague says that even small business owners can benefit from AI, even if they think it does not apply to them. AI can help businesses improve their processes, work faster, avoid mistakes, and stop doing the same work twice.

To help people learn about AI, new centers and schools have opened in the West Midlands. The West Midlands Cyber Hub in Birmingham is a place where anyone can go to ask questions about AI and see what is happening in the tech world. The University of Wolverhampton and Aston University have both opened new centers for AI and cyber security. The School of Coding and AI, which opened in Birmingham and Wolverhampton, teaches students how to use AI in different subjects, such as computer science, business, and health care. Students learn how to use AI, check if the information is correct, and work with AI instead of being replaced by it. People of all ages are learning about AI, and some say it has helped them save time and learn new skills. Leaders in the region hope that by working together, the West Midlands can become a leader in AI and technology in the UK.
