China hits back at US and EU as trade rows deepen

China has taken a strong stance against the US and EU as trade disputes continue to escalate. The Ministry of Commerce has announced an anti-dumping probe into imports of a widely used plastic from the US, EU, Taiwan, and Japan. This plastic, known as polyoxymethylene copolymer, is used in electronics and cars. The move is seen as a signal that China is ready to retaliate in its trade disputes with the US and Europe, which have intensified in recent months. The US recently imposed new restrictions on Chinese technology companies, including electric vehicles (EVs), solar panels, and computer chips. These new measures build on the border taxes imposed on Chinese goods during the Trump administration. In response, China's commerce ministry expressed concerns that these actions would severely impact bilateral cooperation and criticized the politicization of economic issues. China's foreign ministry also stated that it would take all necessary measures to protect its legitimate rights and interests. Additionally, China sanctioned three American defence firms for their sales of weapons to Taiwan.
