The young gig promoters boosting local music scene

In the vibrant town of Suffolk, two enthusiastic young individuals, Hux Josecelyne, aged 18, and Jett Aiello, aged 17, are diligently preparing for an exciting music festival set to launch in 2025. They are particularly thrilled about an upcoming launch party that will showcase the bands MADMADMAD and Gloop Unit. Hux and Jett were recently spotted in front of the BBC Radio Suffolk building, with Hux dressed in a stylish black corduroy shirt and Jett sporting long dark hair and a casual green t-shirt. These young promoters are part of a beautiful community that celebrates music, consisting of various bands, venues, and dedicated audiences. The Tune Up program, organized by Brighten the Corners (BTC) in Ipswich, offers ten free weekly sessions for young people aged 16 to 25. These sessions cover essential topics such as music production, programming, marketing, and event management. Volunteers are working hard to put together a two-day festival scheduled for June. Kieran Holland, a 17-year-old participant, expressed his newfound appreciation for live music: 'I now go to gigs and truly understand what's happening behind the scenes, the effort that's put into it - it's such an art form. ' The post-punk electronic trio MADMADMAD is known for their unique sound, described as a fearless blend of genres that invites listeners to the dancefloor. As the BTC festival approaches in June, the London-based electronic trio MADMADMAD is set to headline a launch party on Friday at St Stephen's Church. Hux Josecelyne played a key role in selecting and booking the band and will also be part of the Tune Up team managing the event on the night. He shared his thoughts on the band's music: 'It's kind of dance, there's a little bit of guitar elements and there is a bit of rock. lots of drums. It's very instrumental, I think it's perfect for a launch party 'cos it's quite upbeat. It's quite lively. ' The growing cultural scene in Suffolk is supported by BTC, a not-for-profit organization that operates three venues in the town center: The Baths, which has a capacity of 300, St Stephen's Church, which can hold 200, and The Smokehouse, which accommodates 70. In addition to the annual festival in June, BTC has announced a new partnership with Ipswich Central, the town's business improvement organization, to host a free festival in October. Ipswich recently gained attention in the music world when a platinum-selling rapper performed at The Baths and surprised fans with a special gig ahead of his concerts at Portman Road in the summer. Kieran, Jack, and Bailey are all part of the Tune Up group working on the main Brighten the Corners festival in June. Jack Polanczuk-Jones, a 16-year-old participant, shared his experience: 'I've been learning how to mix live sound, being an artist liaison and how the touring system works. ' Bailey Ewers-Smith, who is 22, emphasized the local aspect of the festival: 'This being a local festival in Suffolk, you're not in a field somewhere and it's miles away from your house - this is close by. If you're a local, and you love music, give it a go! ' Jett Aiello, also 17, encourages others to join the program: 'Just go for it! You come along to the group and you find this community. It's nothing but welcoming.
