Girl, 11, cast as lead in Land Before Time remake

In an exciting development for the film industry, an 11-year-old girl named Summer-Joules from Chester has been cast as the lead character in a new movie titled Littlefoot. This film is a remake of the beloved animated series The Land Before Time, which originally came out in the 1980s. Summer-Joules will portray the character Littlefoot, a young dinosaur who embarks on adventures with his friends. The film is being directed by Joey Lever, a British filmmaker who gained recognition for his fan film Spiderman: Lost Cause in 2014. Summer-Joules earned this role after impressing the casting team during her second audition. In a unique twist, she used pencils to mimic the sounds of a dinosaur eating, which showcased her creativity and dedication to the role. Reflecting on her audition experience, Summer-Joules shared, 'There weren't many actors in the studio because the actor I was with was from America, on a little computer. ' She had to put pencils in her mouth to sound like she was eating like a dinosaur, and she had to move around a lot to bring the character to life. During the audition, Summer-Joules stood confidently in front of a microphone and a music stand with her script. A woman holding a clapperboard was next to her, while the director was behind a camera, wearing headphones and focused on capturing her performance. Summer-Joules comes from a family deeply rooted in the performing arts. Her mother, Joanne Saunders, is a talent agent who founded the Majestic Academy of Performing Arts in Chester. Summer-Joules expressed her passion for acting, stating, 'I grew up in this and as I grew up with my mum's talent agency so I joined that. ' She has big dreams for her future, wanting to continue acting while also pursuing a career as a barrister. She believes that her acting skills will be beneficial in the courtroom, as it is similar to performing on a stage and presenting her case to judges. Joanne, her mother, expressed her pride in her daughter's achievements, saying, 'I just open doors and let Summer-Joules decide whether she wants to keep them open. ' She emphasized the importance of providing a supportive environment that helps children build their confidence and self-esteem, especially in today's world where many kids face challenges.
