Stay Cool and Jazz On: Tips for Beating the Heat at Upton Festival!

The Upton Jazz Festival is a popular event in Worcestershire, and this year it is taking place from Friday to Sunday across nine different venues in Upton-upon-Severn. The festival is known for bringing together jazz fans and musicians for a weekend full of live music and entertainment. However, this year, the festival is happening during a period of very hot weather, with temperatures expected to stay above 25 degrees Celsius. Because of this, the organizers are giving special advice to visitors to help them stay safe and comfortable during the event.

Jon Parsons, one of the festival organizers, explained that they are working closely with the West Midlands Ambulance Service to make sure everyone knows how to deal with the heat. There will be posters in every venue with tips on how to stay cool, such as drinking plenty of water, wearing sunscreen, and choosing light clothing. Every team member at the festival will be briefed on these safety measures, so they can help visitors if needed. Parsons also mentioned that the stroller ticket allows people to move between venues, so they can find cooler places to enjoy the music instead of staying in one hot room for hours.

The festival is celebrating its 39th year and will feature more than 50 live performances by over 120 jazz artists and orchestras. There will be a wide variety of jazz styles, so everyone can find something they like. The Met Office has issued a red warning for extreme heat in the area, so the ambulance service is also advising people to avoid strenuous activities during the hottest parts of the day and to stay out of direct sunlight when possible. The organizers are doing their best to look after everyone and make sure the festival is enjoyable and safe, even in the hot weather. They hope that by following these tips, everyone can have a great time listening to jazz and enjoying the festival atmosphere.
