When the band arrived, news spread quickly, and soon many children from the nearby Sevenoaks School came to see them. Some girls even skipped school just to catch a glimpse of their idols.

At that time, The Beatles had stopped touring and were spending more time in the studio. Their manager, Brian Epstein, wanted to remind the world that The Beatles were still making great music, so he planned a big promotion for their new double A-side single. During the filming for 'Penny Lane,' the band rode horses through a stone arch and had tea by a pond. John Lennon found a Victorian circus poster in an antiques shop, which inspired the lyrics for 'For The Benefit of Mr Kite. ' Lennon often got ideas for his songs from things he read or saw, and this poster was no exception.
