Only the Poets Rock Brixton with Unforgettable £1 Sold-Out Show!

Only the Poets, a band from Reading and Banbury, made history by selling out the O2 Brixton Academy in London with tickets costing just one pound. This was the same price as their very first gig, showing how much they care about making music affordable for everyone. Around 5,000 fans filled the famous venue, and the band said they would never ever forget this amazing night. The band was first noticed on BBC Introducing, a program that helps new artists get their start. Since then, Only the Poets have supported big names like Lewis Capaldi, Yungblud, and Bastille. Their debut album, And I'd Do It Again, was released just last week. For this special concert, two other bands, Belle Dame from Bristol and SEREN from London, were chosen to open the show. They were picked from over 1,000 acts who entered a competition for the chance to perform.

Lead singer Tommy Longhurst spoke to BBC Radio Berkshire about how important it is to keep music accessible. He said the band believes that live music should not be a luxury, and they want as many people as possible to enjoy their shows. After the concert in London, Only the Poets traveled to Europe for more performances and signings in Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium. The band said playing at Brixton Academy was a dream come true, and they are grateful for all the support from their fans. They hope to keep making music that brings people together and creates unforgettable memories.
