Fashion Icons Unite in Rome to Honor Valentino's Legendary Legacy

On Friday, many well-known people from the worlds of fashion and film gathered in Rome to honor Valentino Garavani, the legendary Italian fashion designer. Valentino, who was known simply by his first name, passed away at the age of 93 at his home in Rome. His funeral took place at the Basilica of Saint Mary of the Angels and Martyrs, a grand church near Piazza della Repubblica. Before the funeral, the public was allowed to visit his foundation’s headquarters for two days to pay their respects.

Among the mourners were Anna Wintour, the famous editor of Vogue magazine, actresses Elizabeth Hurley and Anne Hathaway, and many other celebrities. Elizabeth Hurley attended with her son Damian, just a day after she had to give evidence in a court case. Anne Hathaway wore a black Valentino coat with ruffles, showing her respect for the designer.
