From Books to Ballet: New Arts Studio Dances into Former Library Space!
A new performing arts studio has opened its doors in Telford, bringing excitement to the local community. The ToriArts Studios is now located in the former Madeley Library building, which had been closed to the public since the previous dance company stopped operating in the summer of 2024. The reopening took place on Saturday, and it was a special event for everyone who attended. At the opening ceremony, three women and one man stood together behind a yellow ribbon and a tall balloon tower decorated with gold stars. The woman in the middle, dressed in black, held a large pair of scissors and cut the ribbon, officially welcoming everyone to the new studio.
The new ToriArts Studios offers a wide range of classes for students starting from just 18 months old. The classes include dance, singing, acting, acro, aerial hoop, and aerial silks. This means that children and young people can learn many different skills, from performing on stage to doing acrobatic moves in the air. The studio itself is bright and spacious, with pine floors, white walls, and a mirrored wall that helps students see their movements as they practice. The goal is to create a welcoming and creative space where everyone can express themselves and improve their talents.
Victoria Goodall, the co-founder and creative director of ToriArts Studios, shared her excitement about the reopening. She explained that the building was originally designed for movement, creativity, and performance, so it was sad for the community when it was closed. Now, she is thrilled to see it come back to life as a busy performing arts center. Victoria also runs another ToriArts Studios in Wellington, which has up to 250 students. She hopes that every young person who comes to the new studio will feel welcome and inspired. The reopening of ToriArts Studios is a positive development for Telford, giving people a new place to learn, perform, and connect with others who share their love for the arts.
