Casting call for pirate movie extras

Exciting news for the people of Guernsey! A new pirate movie is in the works, and the filmmakers are looking for local extras to join the cast. The film, titled 'Captain Hook: Curse of the Eldritch Tides,' is a unique horror adaptation of the classic story of Peter Pan. Directed by Lars Janssen, some filming has already taken place in the waters around Herm, a small island near Guernsey. Now, the production team is eager to find more locals to participate in the upcoming scenes that will be shot in St Peter Port and Vale. The next round of filming is scheduled to begin in August, with the movie set to be released in 2025. Lars Janssen, who is based in Guernsey, has issued a casting call for residents who are interested in being part of this exciting project. While he has already filled the roles for British Redcoat soldiers, he is still in need of men and women to take part in a market scene that will be filmed at the historic Vale Castle. This location holds special significance, as it will be the first feature-length film shot on the island and at the castle since the 1970s. Lars expressed his excitement about filming at Castle Cornet, stating that it is an honor to use such a beautiful and historic site. The film has already captured some stunning scenes in the water around Herm, utilizing a replica of an 18th-century frigate named Shtandart. Lars described the film as a 'horror adaptation of Peter Pan,' emphasizing that it is a very different take on the beloved story. He noted, 'It's a very free adaptation, so we won't see Peter Pan, and it's definitely not for children. ' This means that the film will explore darker themes and present a fresh perspective on the classic tale. Guernsey Filmworks is collaborating with High Fliers Films, a London-based film distributor, to bring this project to life. Lars mentioned that the distributor aims to release the film worldwide through various platforms, including streaming services, video on demand, and DVD. Additionally, there are plans for international theatrical releases, which will include a special showing in Guernsey. After the local premiere, the film will have a limited theatrical run at the Mallard theater, providing an exciting opportunity for the community to experience the film on the big screen.
