Latitude slot takes singer a step nearer her dream

Alice-Lily is a 22-year-old singer-songwriter from Rackheath, near Norwich, who is about to take a big step toward her dream. She has been chosen to perform at this year’s Latitude Festival, a major music event held near Southwold, Suffolk, from July 24 to July 27. The festival is expected to attract tens of thousands of music fans, and for Alice-Lily, it is a huge honor to be part of it. She is not only a musician but also a fourth-year medicine student, which means she has to balance her studies with her passion for music. Despite her busy schedule, Alice-Lily spends any spare time she has working on her music, performing, and collaborating with other artists.

The news that she would be performing at Latitude came as a complete surprise. Angelle Joseph from BBC Radio Suffolk broke the news to her, and Alice-Lily was in disbelief. She recalled that in her sixth form yearbook, there was a section where students were voted 'most likely to' achieve certain things. Alice-Lily was voted 'most likely to headline Latitude,' and now she feels like she is one step closer to making that prediction come true. She says that being able to play at her local festival is an amazing privilege and something she has always dreamed of.

Music has always been a big part of Alice-Lily’s life. She grew up in a very musical household, with both her parents singing and encouraging her love for music. Her mother, Linda Nnene, describes Alice-Lily as having music in her soul and heart. Alice-Lily’s earliest memory of singing goes back to when she was just two years old, performing 'Silent Night' in her nursery’s nativity play. Since then, her passion for music has only grown. She draws inspiration from her Christian faith and from artists like Jorja Smith and James Morrison. Her family is incredibly supportive, always standing by her side through both the challenges and the successes. They are proud of her achievements and excited to see her perform at Latitude. Alice-Lily hopes that this opportunity will bring her even closer to her dream of one day headlining the festival.
