Russia responsible for downing of MH17, UN body rules

In a related development, a Dutch court in 2022 found that a group linked to Russia was responsible for the downing of the plane and convicted three individuals of murder in absentia. Although they were sentenced to life in prison, they have not served their time as they were not extradited to the Netherlands. The families of the victims have been actively commemorating their loved ones, and on the 10th anniversary of the disaster, they gathered at a national monument in the Netherlands to honor those who lost their lives in this tragic event.
