83-Year-Old Taylor Swift Video Star Had No Clue Who She Was!

Barrie Reynolds, an 83-year-old man from Capel-le-Ferne in Kent, recently found himself in the spotlight after appearing in Taylor Swift's latest music video for her song Opalite. Despite being part of a project with one of the world's most famous pop stars, Barrie admitted that he had no idea who Taylor Swift was before joining the shoot. His granddaughters, Millie and Francesca, were shocked and amused when they learned about his involvement. Barrie told them honestly, 'I'm afraid I have no idea who she was,' even though Taylor Swift is known all over the globe for her music and performances.

Barrie is no stranger to acting, as he regularly performs with the St Nicholas Players in Ringwold. However, his appearance in the Opalite video came through his work with an acting and modeling agency. When he was asked to be in the video, he was told to be in north London by 7:00 in the morning. Since there were no trains available that early, the production team arranged a taxi for him. Barrie only learned about Taylor Swift after reading about her tour in the newspaper just before the video shoot. On set, he played the role of a judge in a dance contest, wearing a purple blazer and holding up a paddle with a zero on it. He described the song as 'very catchy,' even though he jokingly gave Taylor Swift a score of zero.

The Opalite music video is inspired by the 1980s and tells the story of a lonely woman who uses a magical spray to improve her life and find love. Irish actor Domhnall Gleeson plays the fellow loner who becomes her romantic interest. The two characters dance together in a contest near the end of the video, with Barrie as one of the judges. The video also features other celebrities, including singer Lewis Capaldi and a voice cameo from Irish actor Cillian Murphy. All of these stars appeared with Taylor Swift on The Graham Norton Show in October. Some scenes were filmed at The Whitgift Centre in Croydon. Opalite is the second single from Taylor Swift's 12th album, The Life Of A Showgirl, which was the best-selling album in the UK last year. Barrie said that Taylor Swift was 'so kind and very compassionate,' and she made an effort to talk to everyone involved in the video. He also mentioned that security on set was very strict. Even though Barrie did not know who Taylor Swift was at first, he enjoyed the experience and was happy to be part of such a big project.
