The Fleadh has a history of drawing up to 800,000 visitors to its host cities, but it has only been held in Northern Ireland once before, in Derry. Dónal O'Connor, a traditional musician and artistic director of Belfast Tradfest, has been attending the Fleadh since he was a child. He also worked as a producer for the live television broadcast of the festival. Dónal says that hosting the Fleadh for two years is great news for Belfast and shows that the city is ready for large-scale events. He believes the festival will give local musicians a chance to shine and will attract many visitors from the Republic of Ireland who may be visiting Belfast for the first time.

Claire Kieran, an Irish traditional music producer who started the Belfast Traditional Music Trail, says Belfast is probably the best city in the country for traditional music. She is excited that the Fleadh is coming and hopes it will visit more towns in Northern Ireland. Keith Lane, who owns the Norn Irish Gift Shop, is also looking forward to the festival. He believes it will bring more people and money to the city and help put Belfast on the map as a top destination. Keith is originally from Yorkshire but has lived in Northern Ireland for 23 years. He plans to embrace the festival spirit and welcome visitors with local Northern Irish humor and charm.

Brendan McAleer from Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, the group that organizes the Fleadh, is delighted that Belfast will host the festival. He is from Omagh and has seen many musicians from Northern Ireland travel across Ireland to play music. Now, they will have the chance to perform in Belfast. Brendan has noticed a big increase in young people playing traditional music and believes the Fleadh will give them a huge platform to show their talents. He also points out that about 17 percent of Fleadh visitors come from outside Ireland, which is great for local businesses like hotels, restaurants, and shops.

Brendan hopes that people who visit Belfast for the Fleadh will have a wonderful time and want to return in the future.
