Becky Hill Rocks Intimate Gig Back Where It All Began!

Becky Hill, a popular singer from Bewdley, returned to her roots by performing at The Marrs Bar in Worcester, a small music venue where she first started her career. Although Becky is now used to singing in front of huge crowds at festivals and arenas, this time she played for just 250 fans in a much more personal setting. She wore a white cardigan and looked happy to be back. Becky sang some of her well-known songs, including Crazy What Love Can Do and Gecko Overdrive, and the audience was thrilled to see her up close.

Before the show, Becky talked about how important The Marrs Bar was to her when she was younger. She remembered being a shy 16-year-old girl in a yellow cardigan, just starting to perform her own songs. She said that a good friend encouraged her to play at small local gigs, which helped her gain confidence and learn how to perform on stage. Now, at 32, Becky wanted to pay tribute to her younger self by returning to the place where her music journey began. She said it felt special to come back as a grown-up artist, still singing her own songs.

The concert was part of a UK-wide grassroots music festival, supported by The National Lottery and Music Venue Trust. This festival helps small music venues all over the country by giving them money and support. The National Lottery has raised over one billion pounds for music projects in the UK, including 96 million pounds for more than 2,000 projects in the West Midlands. These small venues are important for the music industry because they give new artists a chance to perform and improve their skills. Fans were very excited to see Becky in such a small venue. Some waited in line for hours, and one fan even traveled over 100 miles to be there. The owner of The Marrs Bar said he was proud to see Becky return and that small venues are where many artists learn their craft. He thanked the National Lottery and Music Venue Trust for their support, saying that without small venues, big festivals like Glastonbury would not exist.
