Luke Allen, the founder of the production company Ask, Seek, Knock in Telford, Shropshire, is calling for a kinder and more inclusive film and television industry. He is supported by his friend Merryn Rae Peachey, who left the industry after ten years due to her own negative experiences. Peachey says that bullying is still common in the industry, and she has seen many talented people leave because of it.

Allen has heard stories of people working extremely long hours, sometimes even illegally, and he feels that this is a very inhumane way to treat workers. He points out that the 'glitz and glamour' of the industry can make people feel lucky to be there, but that does not excuse poor treatment. Peachey explains that working in film and TV was her childhood dream, and she went to university to pursue it. However, the stress and instability of the job became too much for her, especially after she was diagnosed with autism and ADHD. She decided to leave the industry to avoid the stress and find more stability in her life. Peachey believes that the fact so many experienced people are leaving shows that there is something seriously wrong with the way the industry operates.

Allen is committed to making his own production company a welcoming and comfortable place for everyone. He believes that it is important to have open conversations with cast and crew at the beginning of each project to understand their needs. He also thinks that production companies should not be afraid to admit when they make mistakes, as this shows integrity and helps build trust. Allen says that he does not have all the answers, but he feels it is important to talk openly about these issues. He wants to create an environment where people want to work with him again, and he sees returning workers as a sign that he is moving in the right direction. Allen hopes that by raising awareness and encouraging change, the film and TV industry can become a kinder and more inclusive place for everyone.
