Thousands Groove and Shine at Radio 2 Festival Under Stirling Castle

Radio 2 in the Park brought thousands of music fans to Stirling for a weekend of live performances and fun. The festival was held at the foot of Stirling Castle, providing a stunning backdrop for the event. People of all ages gathered, many dressed in colorful outfits, hats, and sunglasses, ready to enjoy a weekend filled with music and excitement. The atmosphere was lively, with festival-goers clapping, singing, and dancing along to their favorite songs. A big wheel behind the crowd added to the festive scene, making it a memorable experience for everyone.

The festivities began on Friday night with a DJ set that got the crowd moving. Presenters like Sara Cox, Gary Davies, DJ Spoony, Michelle Visage, and Rylan helped kick off the event, playing classic singalong anthems and crowd favorites. The energy was high as people danced and sang together, celebrating the start of the festival.

Saturday featured a lineup of well-known artists and bands. Chaka Khan was the headline act, performing with two backing singers and wearing a sparkling black top. Scottish favorite Lulu also took the stage, smiling and reaching out to the crowd in her signature style. Other acts included Texas, Emile Sande, Jack Savoretti, ABC, The Script, and Alexandra Burke, each bringing their own unique sound to the festival.

The crowd was full of excitement, with some people wearing creative costumes like heart-shaped sunglasses and hats shaped like animals. ABC, a band popular in the 1980s, performed their classic hits, while Gary Davies entertained the audience with a DJ set. The Script's lead singer, Danny O'Donoghue, wore a stylish black jacket and a large silver cross as he sang to the crowd.

Festival-goers enjoyed the music from all over the park, some sitting on friends' shoulders to get a better view of the stage. Texas, another Scottish band, played on Saturday, with drummer Cat Myers showing off her skills. Jack Savoretti played his acoustic guitar and sang, captivating the audience with his performance.

Veteran DJ Tony Blackburn also made an appearance, wearing a gold and blue sparkly jacket and addressing the crowd with a smile. Sara Cox, dressed in blue jeans and a copper-colored sparkly jacket, took to the stage to greet the audience. Emile Sande, known for her powerful voice, wore a black and white animal print shirt and delivered a crowd-pleasing performance.

The festival continued into Sunday, with Simple Minds headlining and other acts like Deacon Blue, Level 42, Blue, Cast, James Blunt, and Appleton performing. The event was a huge success, bringing people together to celebrate music in a beautiful setting. The combination of great performances, enthusiastic crowds, and the stunning view of Stirling Castle made Radio 2 in the Park a weekend to remember.
