Assad loyalists kill 14 in clash with Syria's new ruling forces

Demonstrations have also erupted in Alawite-dominated areas, including Tartous and Latakia, as well as in Assad's hometown of Qardaha. Many Alawites are concerned about being held accountable for the actions of the former regime, and there have been calls from religious leaders for a general amnesty. However, given the numerous alleged war crimes committed by members of the Alawite community, such an amnesty seems unlikely.
