Birmingham Filmmaker Turns Wizard of Oz into Dark Horror Hit

Daniel Alexander, a filmmaker from Birmingham, has just premiered his new psychological horror film called Gale: Yellow Brick Road. This movie is a dark and creative retelling of the classic story The Wizard of Oz. In this version, Dorothy Gale is no longer a young girl. Instead, she is an older woman who is haunted by memories from her past. The story also includes her granddaughter, Emily, who is trying to understand what happened to her grandmother. Daniel chose to film in his hometown of Birmingham because he wanted to support local talent and help the city's creative community grow. He believes that there are many talented people in Birmingham who deserve a chance to be part of big projects.

Daniel explained that he did not want to follow the usual path of going to more popular places to make movies, even if it meant more money or easier work. He wanted to show that great films can be made in Birmingham and that the city has a lot to offer.
