Yungblud’s BludFest Goes Global: Fans Excited and Divided Over Move

Yungblud, a popular rock singer from Doncaster, started his own music festival called BludFest in Milton Keynes, England. For the past two years, thousands of fans have attended the festival, enjoying live music and performances. This year, Yungblud has decided to take BludFest international, with the next event set to happen in the Czech Republic in June. This decision has caused mixed reactions among his fans. Some are excited that people in Europe will now have the chance to experience the festival, while others are disappointed because it will be much harder and more expensive for UK fans to attend.

Yungblud explained that he created BludFest because he wanted to offer a more affordable festival experience, as ticket prices for concerts and festivals have been rising. He believes it is important for his European fans to have the opportunity to attend BludFest. His team also mentioned that he is looking forward to seeing fans at his UK arena tour in April and hinted at some exciting plans for 2027. The festival has grown in popularity, with 30,000 people attending the first event in 2024 for £50 each. Last year, ticket prices ranged from £65 to £125, but this year’s prices have not been announced yet. The lineup for the Czech Republic event includes artists like Primal Scream, Biffy Clyro, and Bambie Thug, a former Irish Eurovision contestant.

Some fans, like 18-year-old Colby Wallis from West Yorkshire, are upset about the move. Colby said she was really annoyed and disappointed because she and her friends cannot afford to travel to the Czech Republic. She has been a fan of Yungblud since 2020 and was thrilled when he won an award for his live performance of Black Sabbath’s Changes. Even though she is sad she cannot attend BludFest this year, Colby is proud of Yungblud for expanding his festival and is happy for the fans who will get to go.

Other fans, like Sasha Stinger, see the move as a positive step. Sasha, who has followed Yungblud since 2018, thinks it is amazing that someone from a small town in England can grow his festival internationally. She hopes to attend BludFest in the Czech Republic and is excited for European fans. Sasha also understands why some UK fans are upset but believes Yungblud will eventually bring the festival back to the UK. Morgan Christie, a 22-year-old fan from Fife, says she is a bit upset that BludFest is leaving the UK because she feels it is part of British culture. However, she points out that it would cost her about the same to travel to the Czech Republic as it did to go to Milton Keynes. Morgan thinks UK fans were lucky to have the festival for two years before anyone else.

Music journalist Emma Wilkes believes that Yungblud’s upcoming UK arena tour might have made it difficult to hold BludFest in the UK this year, as it could have affected ticket sales for both events. She also suggests that it might be cheaper to organize the festival abroad. Emma feels that Yungblud is at a high point in his career, especially after winning a Grammy and releasing his fourth album, Idols. She thinks he wants to share his music with as many people as possible. Fans from all over the world, including Canada, have traveled to BludFest in the past. Yungblud has said he hopes to take the festival to cities like Paris, Prague, and even Australia in the future. While some fans are disappointed, many are excited to see BludFest reach new audiences and grow internationally.
