Ex-Race Across The World Champ Craves Another Epic Adventure!

Caroline and Tom Bridge, a mother and son from Hargrave near Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk, became well known after winning the fifth series of the BBC show Race Across The World. Their victory came after fifty-one days of traveling across China, Nepal, and India, covering more than eight thousand seven hundred miles. Competing against four other pairs, they were the first to reach the finish line and took home a cash prize of twenty thousand pounds. Caroline recently shared that watching the first episode of the new series brought back many memories and made her wish she could take part in the adventure again. She said the journey looked fantastic and that she would love to visit Mongolia, where the new series ends.

After their win, Tom decided to quit his job, inspired by the experience to travel more and explore the world. Caroline, on the other hand, started her own podcast, feeling more confident and relevant after the race. She explained that the show gave her the belief that she could achieve anything if she put her mind to it. Tom described the experience as incredible, saying it gave him the travel bug and a desire to meet new people. He learned that you can have a good time anywhere in the world, even in places far from home. Now, he is saving up money to go on more adventures and see where life takes him.

The new series of Race Across The World features five teams who must travel from Palermo in Sicily to a remote village in Mongolia, covering more than seven thousand four hundred miles. They are not allowed to use their phones or bank cards and must survive on less than twenty-six pounds per person each day. The teams include best friends, siblings, a father and daughter, cousins, and two in-laws who have recently become closer after a family loss. Caroline thinks it will be challenging for the in-laws because they are very different, but she hopes they will learn to compromise and work together. Winning the race changed Caroline and Tom's lives, making them more adventurous and confident. They hope the new teams enjoy the journey as much as they did and create memories that will last a lifetime.
