Coldplay pays for young musicians to use studio

Coldplay, the well-known band, has made a generous contribution to help young musicians by allowing them to use a professional music studio. This initiative took place at the Cheese and Grain venue in Frome, where the band had rehearsed for the upcoming Glastonbury Festival last summer. To support the charity Young People Frome, Coldplay donated signed CDs and vinyl records, and the money raised is being used to give young musicians the opportunity to record their own songs in the studio. James Brookes, who leads the music programs at the charity, expressed that the goal is to provide these young individuals with a glimpse of what a career in music could look like, and to offer support if they wish to pursue it further. He emphasized the importance of giving young people the chance to experience a professional studio environment. Ines, a 12-year-old participant, shared her excitement about being in the studio. She remarked, 'You see it on TV but you don't feel it as much as you feel it when you're in a studio. ' Ines felt thrilled to know that many celebrities, including Coldplay, had recorded in the same space. She mentioned a signed guitar by Coldplay that she got to touch, which was an unforgettable moment for her. Another young girl, Alice, also 12, expressed her joy about being in the studio, saying, 'I'm not famous but I got the chance to come here and that's just really cool. ' Mr. Brookes highlighted that it is a rare opportunity for young people to enter such creative spaces where they can freely express themselves and collaborate with others. Steve Macarthur, the director of Cheese and Grain, added that some of these young musicians might have the chance to perform at their smaller venue in the coming years, and possibly even on the main stage later on. After the sessions, the young musicians leave with a recording of the song they created, which serves as a cherished keepsake of their experience.
