Abuja Area Mama was a well-known figure on social media, where she openly discussed her experiences as a transgender individual and her life as a sex worker. She often referred to herself as Ifeanyi, avoiding the use of her full name. Nigeria is known for its conservative views on gender and sexuality, and individuals who do not conform to traditional norms often face discrimination and violence. Last year, Abuja Area Mama expressed her fears for her safety after being attacked, highlighting the dangers faced by many in the LGBTQ+ community in Nigeria.
