Top pop trio unveil blue plaque at Hit Factory

A well-known pop trio has been honored with a blue plaque at a famous music studio called Vine Yard Studios, which is also known as The Hit Factory. The trio consists of three talented music producers: Mike Stock, Matt Aitken, and Pete Waterman. They played a significant role in launching the careers of several popular artists, including Kylie Minogue, Rick Astley, and Bananarama. The blue plaque was unveiled in Southwark, a vibrant area in London, to recognize their contributions to the music industry. The three producers stood proudly beneath the blue plaque, which signifies their remarkable achievements in pop music. Mike Stock was dressed in a blue jacket and a red scarf, smiling at the camera. Matt Aitken, who stood in the middle, had his left arm out and a big grin on his face, wearing a blue coat and a flat cap. Pete Waterman, wearing a navy gilet and glasses, also smiled for the camera. The plaque highlights that they achieved worldwide success and acclaim while working from this building between 1984 and 1993. During their time at The Hit Factory, they produced numerous hit songs, including Kylie's 'I Should Be So Lucky', Rick's 'Never Gonna Give You Up', Bananarama's 'Venus', and Dead Or Alive's 'You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)'. Waterman expressed his nostalgia during the ceremony, stating, 'There are so many memories here… but the most important thing was this building was special. ' He acknowledged that the area has transformed into a trendy place, but it was once a home for them, and the local community was incredibly supportive. Aitken added that Southwark has a rich history, and while he might not have recognized it himself, their work there represents a small piece of history for the area and certainly for pop music. He emphasized that their success was a combination of hard work, a bit of luck, and some talent.
