Sean 'Diddy' Combs faces more than 100 new assault allegations

Sean 'Diddy' Combs, a well-known rapper and music producer, is now facing serious legal troubles as more than 100 individuals have come forward with allegations of sexual assault, rape, and sexual exploitation against him. This announcement was made by Tony Buzbee, a Texas-based attorney, who revealed that among the alleged victims are minors, with the youngest being just nine years old. Mr. Buzbee stated, 'This is an important matter that we intend to aggressively pursue,' indicating that he and his legal team are committed to thoroughly investigating these claims. In response, Erica Wolff, a lawyer representing Mr. Combs, firmly denied the allegations, calling them 'false and defamatory. ' She emphasized that Mr. Combs looks forward to proving his innocence in court, where the truth will be established based on evidence rather than speculation. This legal action is not the first time Mr. Combs has found himself in hot water. Just last month, he was arrested and is currently facing criminal charges related to racketeering and sex trafficking. He remains in federal custody after being denied bail, a decision he is currently appealing. Mr. Combs has consistently denied any wrongdoing. According to Mr. Buzbee, he is representing a total of 120 alleged victims, with an equal number of men and women coming from over 25 different states across the United States. Notably, 25 of these alleged victims were minors at the time of the incidents. This marks the first time Mr. Combs has been accused of sexually abusing children. The allegations span a significant time frame, dating back to 1991 and continuing to this year, with incidents reported in major cities such as Los Angeles, New York, and Miami. Mr. Buzbee noted that most of the alleged incidents occurred after 2015. Many of the plaintiffs claim they were date-raped after attending parties hosted by Mr. Combs, which took place at well-known venues, private residences, and hotels. These parties were often held to celebrate album releases or significant events like New Year’s Eve and Independence Day. Some incidents reportedly occurred during auditions. Mr. Buzbee explained that many young individuals aspiring to break into the music industry were coerced into these situations with promises of fame or the chance to have Mr. Combs listen to their music. One man, who was only nine years old at the time, alleges that he was sexually abused by Mr. Combs and his associates at a recording studio in New York while trying to secure a record deal. He expressed, 'Had he not been in power, I feel I could’ve been something great. I quit the industry because of what Sean Combs did to me. ' Another young man, also a minor at the time, claimed that Mr. Combs told him he would become a 'star,' but first, he needed to meet the rapper alone without his parents. Once in a private area, his lawyer alleges that Mr. Combs requested the boy to perform oral sex on him. Mr. Buzbee also highlighted the case of a 15-year-old girl who claims she was flown to New York for a party hosted by Mr. Combs, where she was subsequently raped by him and others. The lawyer pointed out a troubling pattern, stating that alleged victims were often offered 'laced' drinks before being sexually assaulted. 'The biggest secret in the entertainment industry has finally been revealed to the world,' Mr. Buzbee declared, suggesting that the long-standing silence surrounding these issues has been shattered. He clarified that this is not a class action lawsuit, meaning that each alleged victim will have their own individual case filed. Andrew Van Arsdale, an attorney from the AVA law group, which is collaborating with Mr. Buzbee, mentioned that their firm has received over 3,000 phone calls from individuals alleging abuse by the music mogul. In addition to the 120 alleged victims already represented, they are currently vetting another 100 cases.
