9-Year-Old Esme's Magical Journey to Stardom in Wicked: For Good!

Esme, a nine-year-old girl from Huddersfield, recently experienced something most kids only dream about: she appeared in the new blockbuster movie Wicked: For Good. Esme described the experience as 'crazy' and 'incredible,' especially when she was given a private screening of the film at a cinema in Birstall, Leeds, surrounded by her friends, family, and classmates. As she walked into the cinema, she was greeted by a large crowd cheering her on, which made her feel proud and excited. Esme said, 'There was a huge crowd here and they were all coming for me, I loved it. ' Watching herself on the big screen alongside famous movie stars was surreal for her. She said, 'The film was incredible to watch as I was thinking, there are really big movie stars in that film, and then I just see myself, it was crazy. '

Esme's journey to the big screen began with an audition she didn't know much about. She recalled, 'It was just so crazy because we were just in the middle of a normal afternoon after school and then we get this random phone call saying I'm in Wicked: For Good. ' After being selected, Esme spent several days filming in London, where she played a child at a party in a flashback scene. She described the movie set as 'a whole other world that felt so magical. ' One of the highlights of her experience was meeting Ariana Grande, who stars as Glinda in the film. Ariana surprised Esme and the other children after lunch one day, and Esme said, 'We were all screaming, it was so fun. ' She even got to speak to Ariana, telling her, 'Ariana, you are amazing,' to which Ariana replied, 'You're amazing too. '

Esme's mother, Shareen, is extremely proud of her daughter's achievements. She said Esme is 'bursting with confidence' after her time on set and believes that 'the sky's the limit' for what Esme can accomplish. Shareen described Esme as ambitious and naturally talented. Jon Dixon, the UK marketing director at Showcase Cinemas, said it was a pleasure to host Esme and her loved ones for the special screening, adding, 'We love celebrating local talent, and hosting this private screening for her big moment made it even more special.
