JT's Tablet Boost: Making Music Learning Fun and Accessible for Kids

JT, a telecoms company, has donated four tablet devices to the charity Music in Action. This donation is meant to help children from lower-income families in Jersey have better access to music education. Music in Action runs a program that supports about 90 children whose families receive income support. Through this program, children get special lessons on how to play instruments, learn in small groups, perform in front of others, and join clubs where they can practice music together.

The new tablets will be used to store and share music digitally during lessons. This means that children can read music, learn music theory, and practice in a way that is more interactive and engaging. The tablets can also help teachers show music in different ways, making it easier for children to understand and enjoy learning. Naomi Mews, the treasurer of Music in Action, said that the donation will help remove barriers for the children they support. She believes that music can change a child's confidence and happiness, but not every family has the same access to learning tools. The tablets will make a big difference by making music education more fun and fair for everyone.

Laura Belo, the head of human resources at JT, said that technology can be a force for good in the community. She explained that supporting Music in Action with these devices helps young people learn, be creative, and build confidence.
