Norwich Arts and Royal College of Art Team Up for Creative Degree Magic!

Norwich University of the Arts has announced a new partnership with the Royal College of Art, one of the most respected art schools in the world. Starting in September 2027, students will be able to enroll in undergraduate courses that are jointly awarded by both institutions. This is the first time in the UK that two specialist art universities have come together to offer degrees in this way. The aim is to support the growth of the arts in regions outside of London and to give students more opportunities to develop their creative talents.

The courses will be taught at the Norwich campus, but they will be validated by the Royal College of Art. This means that students will benefit from the high academic standards and creative teaching methods of both universities. The Royal College of Art has a long history, dating back to 1837, and its graduates include famous artists and designers such as Henry Moore, David Hockney, Sir James Dyson, Ridley Scott, and Dame Tracey Emin. Students on the new courses will have access to masterclasses, live project briefs, visits to exhibitions, and advice on further study.

Professor Ben Stopher, the vice-chancellor of Norwich University of the Arts, said he is looking forward to seeing Norwich grow as a creative city. He believes that this partnership will help students gain valuable skills and confidence, and will also support the long-term future of creative education. By combining their strengths, the two universities hope to offer students a unique learning experience that prepares them for careers in the arts.
