Hull's Fashion Week Struts Back After a Decade Away!

After a ten-year break, Hull and East Yorkshire Fashion Week is making a comeback, giving local designers and students a chance to shine. The last time this event took place was a decade ago, but thanks to the efforts of clothing designer Seguntuyi Onakoya, it is being revived. The event is set to highlight the creativity and talent found in the region, and many people are looking forward to seeing what the designers have prepared.

The opening event is free for everyone and will feature a variety of activities. Fashion designers will present their latest collections, vintage sellers will offer unique clothing pieces, and there will be stands for skincare brands and accessory and wig makers. The festivities will kick off with the Hull Trade Fair at Trinity Market on Saturday, running from 10:00 in the morning until 3:00 in the afternoon. On June 5, Queen Victoria Square will host a special show called Theatre of Dreams, which will combine fashion, music, and dance for an exciting experience.

Hull City Council has announced plans to make Fashion Week an annual event, aiming to support and promote the region's creative community. The work of well-known designers will be displayed alongside designs from more than 100 students from East Riding College. According to Jackie Dad, the deputy leader of Hull City Council, the week will help raise the profile of local makers and has a strong educational focus. The event is expected to attract a wide audience, giving everyone a chance to enjoy the latest trends, meet talented designers, and celebrate the area's creative spirit.
