Huawei’s Mate 60 5G smartphone drives Singles’ Day demand, outshining iPhone 15

During China's Singles' Day, a huge shopping festival, Huawei, a local tech giant, saw a significant increase in phone sales, with a 66% jump compared to last year. This was mainly because of their new Mate 60 series 5G phones and some older models that people still like. Even with this increase, their sales haven't reached the numbers they had before the pandemic. nnXiaomi, another Chinese company, had a 28% increase in sales, and Honor, which used to be part of Huawei, had an 11% increase. Apple, known for the iPhone, still has the biggest piece of the market, but they sold 4% fewer phones this time. Huawei's Mate 60 is doing well, thanks to its advanced Kirin 9000s processor made in China. They've sold 2. 4 million of these phones in just eight weeks. nnHuawei is trying to make more of these new 5G phones to keep up with the high demand. They've started a subscription service for the Mate 60 Pro, promising delivery in no more than 90 days. Apple's iPhone 15, which came out in September, saw some improvement in sales but still faced challenges with making enough phones. Xiaomi's latest phone, the Xiaomi 14, also added to the competition, selling over a million units quickly and running out of stock. In an unusual move, Apple offered big discounts on the iPhone 15 during Singles' Day on Chinese online stores.
