From Pubs to Main Stage: Derby Band Rocks Y Not Festival Dream!

The Last Orders, an indie band from Derbyshire, recently had the chance to play on the main stage at the Y Not Festival, a popular music event near Matlock. The band, which includes Ethan Hill as the lead singer and rhythm guitarist, Orlando Parkins on lead guitar and backing vocals, Morgan Freeman on bass, and Seb Murden on drums and backing vocals, has been performing in pubs and small venues since they started. They found out they were shortlisted for the festival through Instagram, which was a huge surprise for them.

When they learned they were picked, the band was practicing together. They were so excited that they started shouting and celebrating. They quickly posted about it on social media and told everyone they knew, hoping to get as much support as possible. Playing at Y Not Festival was a dream come true for them, as it meant performing in front of 20,000 people, which is much bigger than any crowd they had played for before.

The experience was very different from what they were used to. The stage was much larger, and the sound was unusual because they did not use in-ear monitors. Sometimes, they could not hear their own instruments or singing. After the show, they watched videos and realized they had performed well. The band also enjoyed meeting other artists backstage, including Dizzee Rascal and members of the Royston Club. They even had Sunday dinner with Rizzle Kicks. Now, after this amazing experience, The Last Orders plan to play more shows and record new music. They are proud of what they have achieved and hope to continue growing their fan base.
