Golden Oyster Mushroom's Wild Takeover Sparks Fungal Rescue Mission!

Andy Knott, who runs a mushroom farm, teaches people how to do this so they can help protect native species. He believes that by cloning and growing native mushrooms, they can be saved from being pushed out by invasive species like the golden oyster. Other invasive mushrooms are also spreading in different parts of the world, such as the slender golden bolete in Poland and the orange ping pong bat fungus in England. Scientists are now adding more fungi to lists of threatened species and encouraging people to report sightings of invasive mushrooms. They say that fungi are just as important as plants and animals for keeping forests healthy, and more needs to be done to protect them. By working together, scientists and mushroom enthusiasts hope to stop the spread of invasive fungi and save native species for the future.
