Bake Off Legends and Celebs Stir Up Fun at Cheltenham Festival!

The Cheltenham Literature Festival is set to return this October, bringing together a star-studded line-up of authors, celebrities, and entertainers. Among the most anticipated guests are Dame Prue Leith and Dame Mary Berry, both well-known for their roles on The Great British Bake Off. Dame Prue is recognized for her vibrant style, including her colorful glasses and patterned blouses, while Dame Mary is admired for her baking skills and her passion for gardening. The festival will run for ten days, from 9 to 18 October, and will feature more than 500 speakers, including writers, journalists, and famous personalities. Events will be held across various venues in Cheltenham, such as stages, halls, and tents, making the town a lively hub for literature lovers.

This year's festival boasts an impressive roster of guests. Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood, TV producer Russell T Davies, comedian Sandi Toksvig, and author Maggie O'Farrell are just a few of the big names attending. Maggie O'Farrell will discuss her novel Hamnet, while Yann Martel, the author of Life of Pi, will also make an appearance. Helen Fielding, the creator of Bridget Jones, is scheduled to speak, and David Szalay, the 2025 Booker Prize winner, will share his insights. The festival will also pay tribute to Dame Jilly Cooper, a beloved Gloucestershire author, with a special panel hosted by Caitlin Moran. This panel will include actress Katherine Parkinson, producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins, Helen Fielding, Dame Jilly's agent Felicity Blunt, and her daughter Emily Tarrant, who will all discuss her legacy and the enduring popularity of her Rutshire novels.

Dame Prue Leith will participate in a discussion about aging gracefully, joined by Gyles Brandreth and Kathy Lette. Meanwhile, Dame Mary Berry will sit down with Mel Giedroyc, the former Bake Off host, to talk about her second passion, gardening, and her upcoming cookbook. Actress and author Celia Imrie will share stories from her memoir, Elegant Hustler, which recounts her adventures from chasing the Northern Lights to exploring India's railways. Dave Rowntree from the band Blur will also be present, sharing behind-the-scenes stories from his new book, No One You Know. The festival aims to celebrate both established and emerging voices in literature, offering a platform for world-famous names and new talents alike. Priority tickets will be available from 27 August, with general sales starting on 3 September.
