Bergerac Returns: Jersey's Stunning Scenery and Drama Shine in Season Two

The Bergerac film crew has returned to Jersey to start shooting the second season of the popular TV show. Bergerac, which first aired in the 1980s, is a crime drama about a detective who faces personal struggles while solving complicated murder cases. The show was rebooted earlier this year, and now the cast and crew are back on the island to film new episodes. According to the director, residents will notice more of Jersey's famous landmarks in the upcoming season, making the island an even bigger part of the story.

Fans of Bergerac can look forward to more plot twists, including possible romantic developments for some of the main characters. There will also be a mystery centered around a wedding in Jersey, which promises to add excitement to the new season. Executive producer Brian Constantine emphasized that Jersey is at the heart of the show. He shared that the first season attracted 2. 4 million viewers across six episodes, which is considered a strong performance in the television industry. Constantine said, 'Jersey's integral to the story - there is no Bergerac without Jersey and that is why it is so important to be here. ' He hopes that the new season will help the show continue for many years and boost Jersey's reputation around the world.

This season, the production is involving more local residents than before. Thirty people from Jersey are working as supporting artists, and eight trainees are learning from the crew thanks to a partnership with Visit Jersey. Constantine explained, 'We wouldn't be here if it wasn't for them… it's not just about tourism, it's also about money going back into the economy and giving young people a chance. ' One of the trainees, Torin Keeney, joined the electrical department and said the experience has been very educational. He has helped with the smoke machine and set up lighting for both indoor and outdoor scenes. Torin said, 'Everyone is so nice and so friendly… it's one of the best opportunities I could have been given. '

Director Joss Agnew described the new season as 'like a six-hour movie' with one main story arc. He wants to make Jersey's landscapes and landmarks more visible in the show, so islanders will recognize more places, including some from the original series. Filming will continue throughout September, and the crew will also shoot scenes in Devon.
