PinkPantheress cancels tour 'to focus on health'

PinkPantheress, a rising star in the music world, has made the difficult decision to cancel all of her upcoming tour dates. The 23-year-old singer, known for her hit songs like 'Boy's A Liar' and 'Just For Me', announced that she needs to focus on her physical health and overall wellbeing. She had been touring with Olivia Rodrigo in the United States and was set to co-headline the Field Day festival in London later this month. In a heartfelt series of posts on Instagram, PinkPantheress shared her struggles, stating, 'It appears I have reached a wall which I’m struggling to penetrate through. ' She expressed her gratitude to her fans, her touring team, and Olivia for the opportunity to perform and create memorable experiences. 'I'm sad to disappoint anyone and can only hope we will be in each other's company once I return to health,' she added. PinkPantheress was scheduled to support Olivia Rodrigo for several more weeks, with additional festival appearances planned in Florida, Arizona, the UK, and Thailand. She has also canceled an entire tour of Australia and New Zealand, which included eight dates supporting the iconic band Coldplay. PinkPantheress gained fame during the pandemic by sharing snippets of her music on TikTok. Her unique sound, which blends ethereal vocals with retro garage beats, led to viral hits like 'Break It Off' and 'Just A Waste', all while she initially kept her identity a secret. She won the prestigious BBC's Sound Of 2022 poll and achieved a massive hit with her collaboration with Ice Spice on 'Boy's A Liar Pt 2'. In June 2022, she had to cancel a performance at Spain's Primavera Festival due to 'partial hearing loss', but she continued to create music and perform. Last summer, she contributed the song 'Angel' to the Barbie soundtrack and released her critically acclaimed debut album, 'Heaven Knows', in November. Earlier this year, she embarked on her 'Capable of Love Tour', which quickly became a sensation on social media, generating numerous memes. During her first concert in Dublin, she thrilled the audience with her performance of 'Angel', which features a fiddle in its breakdown. Later, in Ohio, she received a homemade gift from a fan, which she estimated to be worth around £300. 'Meeting some longtime fans was the best feeling ever,' she said, recalling the moment. ' In a separate but related story, the rock band Garbage has also canceled their upcoming concerts after their lead singer, Shirley Manson, sustained an injury during their European tour. The band announced that Shirley would require surgery and rehabilitation to recover, but they did not specify the nature of her injury.
