However, Volkswagen did not provide an immediate response to the report. The report has also raised questions about the effectiveness of automakers' self-policing, with a Democrat Senator expressing concerns about its inadequacy. Additionally, the US Customs and Border Protection agency has been called upon to enhance enforcement and take strict actions against companies contributing to the use of forced labor in China.
