TikTok Strikes Deal to Keep Dancing in the US Spotlight

TikTok is a social media app that millions of Americans use to watch and create short videos. The app is owned by ByteDance, a company based in China. The deal has received mixed reactions. Many TikTok users and small business owners are relieved that the app will not be banned. Over seven million small businesses use TikTok to market their products, and people like Tiffany Cianci hope the new investors will protect their interests. However, some lawmakers, like Senator Ron Wyden, argue that the deal does not do enough to protect user privacy. He believes more needs to be done to ensure American data is safe.
