Empara Mi's Epic Soundtrack Journey Hits Netflix Reality Docu-Series

Empara Mi, a talented musician and producer from Guernsey, has seen her music featured in popular TV shows like Love Island and even in the video game Fortnite. Now, her work is reaching new audiences as she contributed to the soundtrack and score for a Netflix documentary miniseries called Reality Check: Inside America's Next Top Model. This three-part series explores the controversies and behind-the-scenes stories of the famous reality TV show, America's Next Top Model, which aired for 24 seasons between 2003 and 2018. The show was known for its weekly photo challenges, where aspiring models competed for a one-year contract with a professional modeling agency.

For the Netflix series, Empara Mi was brought in as one of the main composers. She delivered an impressive 121 music tracks for the documentary, a huge jump from her previous album, which took five years to complete and only included 15 tracks. Empara Mi explained that working on the documentary taught her a new level of discipline and speed. She said, 'Obviously it took me nearly five years to do my last album, that was only 15 tracks. I think we ended up delivering 121 tracks for this. So it taught me a discipline that I had never learned. '

The musician joined the project after the filming was finished. The producers already had a clear vision for the tone and style of music they wanted, aiming for a sound that matched the show's energetic and sometimes chaotic atmosphere. Empara Mi said that this experience helped her become more efficient and creative. She recently finished her next album much faster than before, starting it at Christmas and recording it just two days ago. She credits her new speed and confidence to the discipline she gained from working on the Netflix series. Empara Mi is now looking forward to exploring more creative projects and is excited about trying new things in her music career.
