Camp Bestival 2024: Fatboy Slim, Bastille & Self Esteem Light Up Family Fun!

Camp Bestival is a popular family festival that takes place every year at Lulworth Castle in Dorset, England. This year, the festival will run from July 30 to August 2, and it promises to be full of exciting music, activities, and entertainment for people of all ages. Bastille will make their Camp Bestival debut on Saturday night, following a performance by rapper and producer Example. On Friday, the pop artist Self Esteem will be the main act, and soul legend Billy Ocean will also perform. The festival lineup also includes indie band Black Grape, drum and bass stars Fabio & Grooverider, DJ Fat Tony, Josh Wink, Toploader, and up-and-coming artists like Brooke Coombe, Ellur, and The Guest List.

Some festival favorites are returning this year, such as Joe Marler, Sara Cox, Dick and Dom, Mister Maker, Blippi, and Mr Tumble. One of the highlights is the Allotment, a collaboration with gardener August Beth, where families can take part in seed-sowing workshops and visit a unique Vegetable Museum. There will also be beekeeping sessions led by a local Dorset apiarist, and the Earth's Crust Bread School will offer baking lessons with baker David Wright. For those who love drama, Shakespeare's Globe will host workshops that turn children's stories into interactive plays.

The festival is organized by Rob da Bank and Josie da Bank, who are passionate about creating a space where families can spend quality time together. Josie says she likes to think back to her own childhood and include activities that made her feel happy and free. This year, the festival has a seaside theme, which means there will be lots of beach-inspired fun. Fatboy Slim joked that he is the perfect person to provide an authentic seaside experience.
