Britain's Youngest F1 Star Races Fast and Shreds Skateboard Ramps!

Arvid Lindblad is making headlines as Britain's youngest Formula 1 driver, starting his debut season at just 18 years old. He joined the Red Bull driver development program when he was only 13, showing his talent early on. Arvid was supposed to race in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in Jeddah, but the event was canceled, giving him an unexpected break after only three races. During this time off, Arvid reflected on his performance, spent time with friends, and even picked up skateboarding as a new hobby. He says he is eager to return to the track, especially looking forward to racing in Miami and having his own 'Drive to Survive' moment, referring to the popular Netflix series about F1. He is also excited about the chance to compete in his home Grand Prix at Silverstone later this year.

Arvid's F1 journey began in Australia, where he made his debut at the Melbourne Grand Prix. He finished eighth, earning points for his Racing Bulls team. He then raced in China and Japan before the season was paused due to the war in the Middle East. With only three races completed, Arvid admits it still feels strange to call himself an F1 driver. He says, 'I don't think it's fully sunk in. This is something I've been working towards my whole life. So the fact it's come true is extremely special, extremely cool. ' Racing is his passion, and he can't wait to get back behind the wheel in Miami.

One unique thing about Arvid is his helmet, which features three flags: England, Sweden, and India. He grew up in Surrey, England, but his father is Swedish and his mother is of Indian descent. Arvid says being surrounded by these three cultures has shaped who he is, both as a person and as a driver. He is looking forward to his first home Grand Prix at Silverstone, where his entire family will be there to support him. He says racing at home will be a very special experience.

Unfortunately, Arvid won't be able to race in India this season, even though it means a lot to him. The Buddh International Circuit in Uttar Pradesh used to host F1 races but hasn't since 2013 due to a tax dispute. Arvid visited Delhi with his team during pre-season and says racing in India would be 'really cool. ' He races under the British flag, but having a second home race in India would be very meaningful to him. However, F1 bosses have confirmed there won't be a race in India next year.

Arvid's family is very important to him. His dad, Stefan, is Swedish, and his mum, Anita, is of Indian heritage. Arvid is still new to the sport and hasn't yet appeared on 'Drive to Survive,' but he hopes to be featured soon. He watched the show when he was younger and looks forward to his moment in the spotlight. In the garage, Arvid gets along well with his teammate Liam Lawson, but he has a special connection with Max Verstappen, a four-time world champion. Both started racing at a young age and moved up quickly, so Max has been a helpful mentor.

Even though Arvid has enjoyed learning to skateboard during his break, he says racing is still his main focus. He can ride his skateboard comfortably and is working on learning a trick called a kickflip. Arvid is proud of his multicultural background and wants to make his family proud. He is excited about his future in Formula 1 and hopes to continue improving and achieving great results for his team.
