Lincoln Castle and Museums Pump £15M into Local Economy with Heritage and Hits!

The council is responsible for managing Lincoln Castle, Lincoln Museum, Usher Gallery, The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Visitor Centre, and the Museum of Lincolnshire Life. Councillor Natalie Oliver, who oversees culture, said that these cultural sites do an amazing job of celebrating Lincolnshire's rich heritage and history.

Live events at the castle, such as concerts and special exhibitions, have attracted many visitors. Historic artefacts like the Magna Carta have also inspired people to travel to Lincoln. Councillor Oliver said that generating £15 million for Lincolnshire's economy is a great achievement. She believes that the economic impact will grow even more when Lincoln Museum reopens next year after a £1. 7 million redevelopment. The new gallery at the museum will give visitors a fresh way to explore Lincolnshire's incredible heritage.

The council plans to discuss these figures at the Children's and Culture Scrutiny Committee meeting in December.
