Big Stars Like Blue Rock Hereford’s New Car Park Stage!

Herefordshire is about to welcome some very famous performers, and they will be playing in a unique location – a car park that has been transformed into a temporary arena. The new venue, called The Amp, is a large tent set up outside The Courtyard, which is Hereford's main theatre. The Courtyard only has 400 seats, so it is too small for some of the bigger acts. The Amp, however, can hold up to 1,400 people, making it possible for more fans to see their favorite stars.

The lineup for The Amp is impressive. Popular musicians like James Morrison and Blue will be performing, as well as comedians Russell Howard and Al Murray. There will also be shows from K-Pop All Stars, The Shires, Simon Reeve, The Bootleg Beatles, Chris Ramsey, and even football legends Harry Redknapp and Paul Merson. The Amp will only be open for a few months, until the end of August, after which it will be taken down. However, there are already plans to find a permanent home for the venue next year.

Ian Archer, the CEO of The Courtyard, explained that he wanted to bring bigger acts to Herefordshire because he believes the people there deserve more than just small theatre shows. He said that running a small theatre is getting harder because costs keep rising, but ticket prices cannot go up forever. By creating The Amp, he hopes to secure the future of The Courtyard and bring more entertainment to the area. So far, more than 16,000 tickets have been sold for the shows at The Amp. Paul Stevens, a board member at The Courtyard, said he is thrilled because Hereford has not seen events of this size since the 1990s. The community is excited to see big names return to the city, and many hope that The Amp will become a regular part of Hereford's entertainment scene.
