From Schoolmates to Headliners: The Clause's Dream Gig at Birmingham O2!

The Clause is a music band from the West Midlands, and their journey is truly inspiring. The group started when its members were just 12 years old, meeting at St Peter's Catholic School in Solihull. Pearce Macca, the lead singer, remembers how he, drummer Niall Fennell, and bassist Jonny Fyffe were strangers who found each other during a school lunch. Later, when they were about 15 or 16, they met guitarist Liam Deakin at a gig for another band. Liam joined, and together they began playing music, first just for fun, but soon they realized they could make something special out of their friendship and talent. Now, more than ten years later, The Clause is about to play at Birmingham's O2 Academy, a venue they always dreamed of headlining. Their debut album, Victim Of A Casual Thing, has been a huge success. It reached number eight in the official UK album charts, beating out big names like Sabrina Carpenter and Elton John. Although the album is now at number 19, it still holds the top spot on the Independent Albums Chart. Liam Deakin said the past few days have felt like a blur because of all the excitement. Pearce Macca added that their current tour is the biggest they have ever done, with shows at venues they never thought they would play. The tour starts in Brighton on November 13 and ends with their headline show at the O2 Academy in Birmingham on December 19. This final show is especially meaningful because it was always a goal for the band, even when they were just joking about it as teenagers.

Macca explained that when they started the band, it was just a fun idea among friends. But as they kept playing and more people started to notice them, they decided to take it seriously. Liam Deakin said they are lucky to have a strong group of fans who support them. Unlike many bands, The Clause does not have a big record label or management team behind them. Instead, it is just four friends who have put everything into their music and worked hard to see what happens. Their dedication has paid off, with sold-out tours and opportunities to support well-known acts like James, The Lottery Winners, and The K's. They have also performed at major events such as the Isle of Wight Festival and Radio One's Big Weekend. Liam said their recent chart success was unexpected, and it felt surreal to see their name alongside stars like Taylor Swift and Elton John.
