Surrey Grad Oli Jacobs Scores Fourth Grammy Mixing Kendrick's Hit 'Luther'

Oli Jacobs, a talented music producer and engineer who graduated from the University of Surrey, has just won his fourth Grammy Award. The Grammy Awards are some of the most respected honors in the music industry, and winning one is a huge achievement. This year, Oli won Record of the Year for his work on the song Luther, which was performed by Kendrick Lamar and SZA. Dr Russell Mason, who leads the Tonmeister program at Surrey, said that winning a Grammy two years in a row puts Oli in a very special group of people in Grammy history. Dr Mason also mentioned that Oli's achievements show how valuable the Tonmeister degree is, as it combines technical skills with musical creativity. Since the course began in 1970, many of its graduates have gone on to win major awards like Grammys, Oscars, BAFTAs, and Emmys.

Oli is now based in Los Angeles, where he works with some of the biggest names in music, including Taylor Swift, Doja Cat, and Sam Fender. He is known as one of the most in-demand engineers in the industry. This year, besides winning for Luther, he was also nominated for Record of the Year for Sabrina Carpenter's Manchild and Album of the Year for Carpenter's Man's Best Friend. Oli's journey from a university student in Surrey to a Grammy-winning producer in Los Angeles is inspiring.
