7-Year-Old Jayce's Book Showcases Kids' Stories Celebrating Diversity

Jayce is a remarkable seven-year-old boy from Birmingham who has just published a new anthology called Our Stories, Our World. This anthology is a collection of 20 illustrated short stories and poems, all written by children aged six to ten from underrepresented backgrounds across the UK. Jayce carefully selected each story and poem to make sure that the voices of children who are not always seen or heard in books could be celebrated. He believes that diversity, imagination, and inclusion are very important, and he wants his book to show that every child has a story worth sharing.

Jayce is not new to writing and publishing. Three years ago, he wrote his first book, Jayce's Sweet Tooth, which is about a boy who cannot resist candy. He became a member of Mensa with an IQ of 150 before he even turned five years old. Since then, Jayce has published two more books and has been recognized for his contributions to early literacy. He received the BBC Blue Peter Gold Badge and the British Citizen Youth Award, Medal of Honour, for the positive impact he has made in his community.

Jayce says that when children see themselves in books, they fall in love with reading. He wants all children to feel included and to know that their stories matter. To celebrate the launch of his new anthology, there will be a public event at the Library of Birmingham on April 11. Jayce hopes that his book will inspire other children to read, write, and share their own stories.
